Hello, I'm Charles.
I have a great publishing life with wonderful writers

Hello again! I hope you've enjoyed those few ancient words of wisdom. I’m the publisher of many books, including one of my own where I share my experiences with writers. So, welcome to charlesbewlay.com where I can share with you my love of all things publishing.

I’ve been in publishing for over forty years, specialising in academic books for thirty of those, with my own specialist niche company. I have also helped many NGOs, Non-Profits, along their way in getting their important messages out.
Earlier I was a teacher and then in educational publishing for ten years. My teaching background, my love of enabling learning, has stayed with me throughout my publishing life, as I guide and encourage writers in their quests to publish, both individually and through workshops.

Now, I want to help you make the best decisions when shopping for books about getting published, mostly academic ones
Through my years in publishing, I have experiences and knowledge that I want to share with you here, to help you get published. The book-buying world has changed dramatically since I started reading, publishing and writing. Shopping at online stores, where you pick and choose and make decisions, has become increasingly tricky and time-consuming. I’ve been through it, and want to share with you the outcomes of the time I’ve spent on that.
My other goal is to promote the best books out there
By comparing similar books and other items I use, listing their pros and cons, along with helpful info relating to them, I hope to help you make educated decisions on which are the best and most useful for you. Apart from books I might include relevant software and hardware. So keep checking on my blog page.

I have loved photography since my father gave me a Canon Demi for my 12th birthday, when he had a Leica. I got a Leica III from the 1930s when I sold my Zorki. Later I went to Pentax and Nikon, and of course iPhone too.

I love music, particularly jazz, but I've failed to put in the 10,000 hours reckoned to be needed to be an accomplished pianist. I also love fine art, my favourite painter being Kandinsky.

Well, there you are, I've blown my own horn, and I hope I'll help you to blow yours too.
